Research folder

For part of the essay I have to do, half the mark is to create a research folder, made up of the weekly study tasks we have had to do each week for the past 4 weeks this is about 2 thirds of what I have. There will be more to come after the weekend as its being put on hold until I finish touching up live project, but more on that later. 


As mentioned previously I have chosen to bade my essay around the state of the VFX industry, by creating the research folder hopefully it will be clear enough to understand how I came up with the question and what sources and references I will use (generally works the same way as a sketchbook, noting down and mapping out how I got to my end product, i.e. the question) 


week 1 - was to create a kind of mind map to try and discover and break down what area's I could look into and where my main interest lie.


week 2 - was all about finding a source or thing that I see as my sole interest. something that I consider to be the hub of my passion as a VFX artist. I chose to talk about motionographer  .. 'Motionographer (pronounced like “oceanographer”) seeks to be a source of inspiration for filmmakers, animators and designers by sharing:

• outstanding work from studios, freelancers and students
• feature stories that give readers a closer look at influential studios and individuals
• commentary that sparks discussion or introspection about the creative process
• miscellaneous items that Motionographer contributors find interesting

Motionographer isn’t just about motion graphics. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and the Motionographer contributors hope to provide you with interesting material regardless of the medium in which it was created.' to be more exact ;)

week 3 - this is generally where I'm up to now, I've been working on a few more things but they're not quite ready for show and tell, on this series of images its just a brief break down of the subject I am looking to go into, 'the big picture' and a few links that I'm also going to add a mood board too.

week 4 - this is still to come, here I will be showing more of  a break down on my topic, the ins and outs and the areas I would like to cover. Also as part of week 4 i would have hopefully gather a substancial amount more of info, for example things like journals, blogs, news paper articles, books etc as I also have to create a bibliography for the research. This will more than likley come as part of week 5 but sooner if I have the time :)
