Planning
Just a short one, trying to read as much as possible to make shaping the 3rd year film a little easier, hopefully putting together a well shot short rather than some typical jumbled together student mess. Hopefully this will help, I've heard good things and will more than likely become my bible over the next few weeks and will be precious when filming. Going to get started on it tonight along with some screen play online pdf's I found :)
New Cut
Just revised some footage and re-cut an edit I did a while back :)

Excavator asset
Here we go then, summer asset project. Think its about time i created a nice high-res, well textured, lit and rendered 3dmodel. decided to go for a JCB excavator, the JCB-JS460.

its going to be a summer long project and more than likely a long time consuming one at that. i started work this evening and I'm working from the cab outwards, really want to create a nice few showreel pieces this summer and this one should defiantly make the cut if all goes to plan

RedBull Empire of Dirt edit
rightt, so this is really my first pop at my own filmer maker-esk edit, really wanted to replicate some of the work or come up to the standard of work i see on pinkbike.com. check it out there's some really cool edits there. all seems to be going well so far having a bit of trouble trying to make shots out of nothing has i didnt know what angles and pans i wanted so it was a kind of point and shoot affair, 'we can fix it in post' attitude, really am far from finished but thought ide post the progress. ive only worked on the first 60seconds of it but its a working progress :)

Summer work
Poor poor poor blog :/ really struggling to post at the moment, essentially down to working to pay for another years worth of university costs. 50hours a week is really killing my work flow and im just about getting an hour a day to get some personal projects in.
so a little update on what i've been up to, as seen in my last post ive been working on story lines for my 3rd year film, im really keen on geting a simple yet high quality finish rather than being over ambitious and producing half a film. idea's have developed and i hope to start writing up some more detailed story boards that i can present. I'm planning to do so to whitehouse post, a company im going to be spending some time with from next week onward's, though its not the typical direction most vfx'ers go but I want to get a bit of an insight into film making, industry production and hopefully i could get some opinions on my script ideas, along with feedback from 'the story killer' (most will know who) i hope to have a concept from which i can start working from soon :)
I started a bit of research on the company as i though it would be a good idea to find out what they've worked on rather than walking in and not being able tell them apart from greggs :/
They've worked on some really cool ads, also working with capgun collective, carbon vfx and gentleman scholar they've produce visuals for clients from audi to cravendale and mc donalds to bt they have a pretty impressive folio, however i really took a liking to genelman scholar's works as they have a a range of well produced edits to awesome styleised live action animations which is right up my street ;)
just some of my fav's..
